Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. She was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 and was the 2nd youngest recipient in Oscar history. As a result of an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter of a Scottish pianist. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician who came into New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. When she moved into America, she was a teenager. Paquin made her debut in the midst of her childhood with a character in the Jane Eyre protagonist in the Franco Zeffirelli novel Jane Eyre, and then she played a significant role on the film Fly Away Home. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role in the role of Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and portrayed the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
