Anya Taylor Joy was born in Miami Florida on 16 April 1996. Dennis Alan Taylor was a former Banker. Jennifer Marina Joy worked as a Psychotherapist. She is the daughter of an Argentinean with Scottish, English and Argentinean heritage. The mother of Taylor-Joy is Spanish with English roots. Taylor-Joy has four siblings from her father's previous marriage. The family lived at Buenos Aires until she was six, after which they moved to the Victoria area in London. According to Taylor-Joy the relocation was difficult and she refused to master English in the hopes of returning to Argentina. Hill House became her school of choice after Taylor-Joy was ordered to move schools. Then, she was enrolled at Queen's Gate School to study dance and perform in school productions. When she was 16 she dropped out of school to make a career of acting. Taylor-Joy was destined to be an actress at a young age. She realized her dream when Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Management offered her a modelling job.
